How Is an EPC Conducted?

Description

An EPC assessment is conducted by an authorized energy assessor. During the visit, the assessor evaluates various aspects of the property, including:
Insulation: Insulation of the walls, roofs, and floors and the quality and amount of insulation of these structures.
Heating Systems: Heating and hot water equipment and the efficiency level of the equipment.
Windows: Proper installation of windows and doors, including energy-saving features such as double glazing.
Lighting: This is a factor that depends on the type of lighting that is installed and the efficiency of the lighting system.
Therefore the assessor derives the energy efficiency rating and issues a report depending on the factors mentioned above. The Energy Performance Certificate also contains suggestions as to the enhancements that could be made, for instance, insulating the home, altering the heating, or replacing the lighting.
